We are an experienced and passionate team of Behaviour Analysts, Senior Therapists, Instructor Therapists and Special Educators. We are committed to providing individualized therapy for children with a wide range of developmental and cognitive needs. We are devoted to helping your child reach their full potential in an environment they find both comfortable and engaging. We believe every child learns differently and we are excited to teach them in a way that is specific to them while keeping in mind all sensory needs.
Evidence-Based Teaching
Sunshine ABA uses the evidence-based principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in order to implement ABA therapy, Intensive Behavioural Intervention therapy (IBI) or Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). This uses a combination of Natural Environment Teaching (NET) as well as reinforcement strategies to increase skills and behaviours you would like to see more of as well as decrease those that are more challenging.
ABA is effective for a wide range of goals that target areas such as: verbal or non-verbal communication, motor skills, executive functioning, social skills, independence, cognitive development, academics, compliance, eye-contact as well as many more.
Collaboration
Sunshine ABA is a strong believer in the effects of consistency across all of your child’s environments. This means we promote family engagement in all aspects of your child’s learning and we set goals together. We are happy to communicate with your child’s school or other professionals in order to provide support, strategies or learning goals. Additionally, we are experienced with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), funding and all related documentation that is required. Further, we collaborate with other professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Speech and Language Pathologists. We are happy to welcome professionals into our centre in order to collaborate.
